“A shock on every other page.” —Wall Street Journal

How far would you go to find The One?

A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab and soon you’ll be matched with your perfect partner—the one you’re genetically made for.

That’s the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. But the discovery has its downsides: test results have led to the breakup of countless relationships and upended the traditional ideas of dating, romance and love.

Now five very different people have received the notification that they’ve been “Matched.” They’re each about to meet their one true love. But “happily ever after” isn’t guaranteed for everyone. Because even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking than others…

A word-of-mouth hit in the United Kingdom, The One is a fascinating novel that shows how even the simplest discoveries can have complicated consequences.

Don't miss other suspenseful reads from John Marrs (you'll never see the twists coming!):

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“5 stars! Reading this book sent me into an emotional spiral, in a good way. The beginning 1/3 of the book starts slow spending a lot of time introducing us to the cast of characters and unraveling the initial impact the dating app has on their lives. However, the latter half is filled with back-to-back insane plot twists that had me gasping and screaming out loud. So far, no other book has gotten so much emotion out of me. I usually do not like multiple POV storytelling but it worked so well here. Honestly, telling the narrative one character at a time was the best way to keep everything together since so much was going on. There were a few characters that I felt had more interesting storylines than others but I never wanted to skip anything. There was 1 character that made me cringe every time I knew we were going into their storyline but they weren't written to be likable. There's a TV adaptation of this book that I am looking forward to watching and I hope they do the story justice. This was my first time reading a thriller and it has set the bar high for whatever thriller I read next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone even people who aren't typically readers.”
