Publisher Description

In a society steeped in tradition, Princess Lia's life follows a preordained course. As First Daughter, she is expected to have the revered gift of sight—but she doesn't—and she knows her parents are perpetrating a sham when they arrange her marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom—to a prince she has never met.
On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.
The Kiss of Deception is the first book in Mary E. Pearson's Remnant Chronicles.

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“I didn’t know what to expect going into Kiss of Deception. Only that I wanted to read it to eventually get to Dance of Thieves. The story really surprised me from the start and kept me on my toes. I also unapologetically love the YA romantic drama. I have no idea where this plot is heading, which is great. I dislike predictability. I had a couple of “DAMN!” and “OMG!” moments. There were times my heart swelled and times where it broke. Going to start the next in the series immediately.”

Beaming Face with Smiling Eyes“This had everything that I needed! Pearson did an amazing job adding the right amount of romance, suspense, twists and mystery that just sucked me right in. I lost count of how many times I gasped when a new twist came and I felt so immersed following Lia’s journey to freedom. The cliffhanger was a doozie that left me with so many emotions and questions. I now have a hunger to find out what happens in the next book and can’t wait to find out what Lia and Rafe do next!”
