Publisher Description

Captivating and action-packed, From Blood and Ash is a sexy, addictive, and unexpected fantasy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Laura Thalassa.

A Maiden…

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty…

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom…

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

Thinking Face“Ehhhhhhhh I will be reading the second book…. Because the ending of the first book is making me. But everyone has said “omg if you loved acotar you’ll love from blood and ash” and I LOVE acotar… and I feel not super happy with this first book. 😅 I hope it gets better!!!”

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“I absolutely loved this book. Especially after reading acotar. It cured one hangover and started another. The world is amazing as well as the plot. The first book is my favourite of the series. I love the characters and how they grow throughout. I didn’t like how smells were used to describe things and how she could ‘taste’ it. Thought it was weird. But overall loved it”

Thinking Face“While I was able to predict a good bit of the plot twists, I still immediately downloaded the next book because I’m now invested in the story. It took forever for the story to develop (which I know is typical of fantasy with world building) and a good bit of the story was fairly boring but in the end I’m glad I stuck with it!”

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“First of all… why did no one tell me this was basically a vampire fantasy, I would’ve read it so much sooner! I love the romance and the discovery of truth through the main characters eyes. The love and betrayal. The things yet to come. Great story premise and such a good relationship between characters. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because some descriptions felt overly repetitive. But once the plot thickened it wasn’t as much of a distraction to me. Highly recommend though!!”
