What is the Sandman About?

The series follows Dream, also known as Morpheus and the Sandman, while he quests for his lost objects of power. Dream is the personification of all dreams and stories and can take the form of anything and everything. In the beginning of the Sandman, Dream has just escaped captivity and seeks to repair his kingdom, which has fallen into ruin since his imprisonment. Morpheus is a powerful, immortal being, often considered the 'Master of Dreams.' The Sandman introduces a character who can put people to sleep and a world where dreams and nightmares come to life. Despite being the main focus, Dream is only one of seven Endless, a family of magical beings. The other Endless are Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, and Destruction. This series is famous for Gaiman's personification of many metaphysical entities while incorporating mythology and history in a horror setting. While the Endless are all siblings, their appearances often change to fit their situations or meet the expectations of those around them.

Is the sandman good or evil?

Many people wonder if the Sandman is a villain. In the comics, the Sandman is neither good nor bad. He has a lot of power and responsibility as the authority of dreams and nightmares. Still, throughout his story, he makes many questionable decisions and displays a frequently shifting moral compass. As a character who embodies universal concepts, it isn't easy to define and label him in a black-and-white way. The whole show portrays an underlying theme of change and how dealing with change in different ways impacts our lives and attitudes towards life.

Why does the sandman make you sleep?

The Sandman is a powerful entity or traditional character in European children's folklore. He usually puts people to sleep and brings beautiful dreams by sprinkling magical sand into their eyes. The original legend depicts the Sandman making people sleep so that there is peace and calmness.

Is the Sandman a god?

The Sandman and the rest of the Endless are god-like beings. They are immortal and have magical abilities. They are depicted as some of the most powerful beings in the DC universe but are not quite gods since gods are created by mortal belief, while the Endless are not.

Why is it called Sandman?

The show and the comics are called the Sandman because they focus on Dream, who is called the Sandman, and are based on European folklore surrounding the Sandman and its abilities.
